Daynin dashefsky

Head Instructor

Born and raised in Hawaii, Daynin has been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu since April of 2001.  She started her training under Jason Izzaguirre for 7 years at Gracie Kailua then moved to Hawaii Kai where she trained under Ron Huxen for the next 7 years before starting her Black Belt Journey with Michael Chapman of Impact Jiu Jitsu.  In 2014, Daynin opened Kahala Jiu Jitsu, the first, and only, female-owned Jiu Jitsu and Self Defense school in Hawaii.  Daynin has competed in various tournaments over the years and have won first place in many of them to include winning all 3 divisions (Women's Gi, Women's No-Gi and The Women's Absolute Championship) in the 2009 NAGA (National American Grappler's Association) Tournament and first and second place medals at the Worlds Masters Tournament in 2014 in Long Beach, CA.  Daynin is currently a Black Belt under Michael Chapman of Impact Jiu-Jitsu and aspires to build a school where people can learn the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as a WAY OF LIFE, not a way to Fight.  Outside of Jiu Jitsu, Daynin is a single mom of 2 daughters and is a motivational speaker focusing on empowerment, entrepreneurship and specializes in working with Inventors and Entrepreneurs.  Daynin is also the founder and head instructor of "Hawaii Biz Kids" where she teaches kids ages 7-15 how to start and run their own businesses.
